... I am extremely disappointed. No Lionel Lines version? Yet we have 10 NYC versions? really? Come on man! Lets have that Lionel Lines version Stu! Hate to be the bearer of bad news. But if memory serves me correctly, I believe the LCCA took a lot of heat for offering a Lionel Lines version in a recent offering... the thought being that "Lionel Lines" doesn't have the traction or drawing power with younger hobbyists that it does for us older folks who grew up in the 1950's and 1960's. And we're sadly becoming a smaller segment of the target audience.
Lionel could potentially offer something under the "Lionel Lines" roadname in next year's catalog, because they can adjust production quantities as demand warrants. But last I heard, Lionel is still requiring dealers and clubs to commit to custom-runs with a 40-unit minimum production run for locomtives. And these big-ticket items don't come cheap.
So I can understand METCA passing on a Lionel Lines Hudson, given they're already out on a limb somewhat with the their clear-shell E6 offerings. That too has a post-war nostalgic look-and-feel that might not be registering with the YouTube generation these days. But what do I know???
P.S. By the way, while you're keeping an eye out on the METCA store's website for their custom-run Hudson announcement, you might also notice quite a number of new rolling stock offerings... the latest of which (as of this post) being two MTH RailKing modern tank cars in Jack Daniels livery. There sure are quite a number of METCA custom-run offerings this year!!!

But we have TEN Hudsons being offered in the NYC road name and one TBH . TEN!!!
As for Lionel Line doesn’t sell, Lionel has offered Lionel Lines freight cars and locomotives in the last few catalogs. Somebody is buying them!
Why do we need TEN super high end Hudson’s with just one road name all in one catalog?
Come on METCA…. We need a Lionel Lines Hudson!

I guess that's why I don't win at gambling. LOL! So will Stu and METCA also be releasing a NYC vision Hudson? That would make eleven NYC being offered as part of one catalog! And we can’t get one 700E Lionel Lines for Lionel’s 125th anniversary?

Will it be as iconic to Lionel's storied 125 year history as the 700E Lionel Lines Hudson? Maybe they'll do that as the "Engine of the Year" on the Lionel Store Site?

We can hope that somewhere, someone has a plan to release the most iconic Lionel locomotive as a Vision Lionel Lines 700E Hudson. My credit card is standing by if they do.

On yesterday's live event that Trainworld hosted, they "teased" what sounded like a possible custom-run Hudson. But they're still crossing T's and dotting I's with Lionel. So keep a look-out for that Hudson announcement as well, once the design is finalized. Sounds like there will be plenty to choose from. SO MUCH excitement!!!

My guess is that Trainworld is going to do the Halloween Hudson. METCA does the Polar Express?

Sell the old and get the new. Just like buying a new car every year or two. I’m living proof of this …..when Lionel introduced the Legacy J3a, people started dumping the TMCC J3a for pennies on the dollar, …..I was scooping them up dirt cheap!!…..some as low as 250 bucks …..it was nuts!!…..& IMO, the TMCC J3a is built like a tank!!…
