I hope I'm not hijacking this thread...Ilove the Hudson, but maybe it's the nostalgia in me that likes the design of the postwar version better? As a kid, I loved the boiler front of the Hudson. I loved how the Christmas lights would catch the green jewels on the class/"marker" lights. I had Pat put a can motor in my PWC 773. It runs like a watch. For me, it was the perfect resto-mod. "Harmonized" 773 Lionel Postwar Celebration Series

But, but, but where are the versions I want?
- "Happy Halloween" (orange and black)
- "Yueltide" (just in time for whatever that holiday is)
- "Polar Express"
Come talk to me when those versions are available.
God knows there aren't enough Lionel Hudsons out there.

I also wonder what this will do to the value of the fist run of Vision 700Es? Maybe a coincidence, but there are a few more on ebay today.

Although I'm not in today's market, how about some new tooling of another prototype. How many Hudson's can you build? Don't get me wrong they look like they will be beautiful but the same old thing every couple of years is really getting old!!

Dave This is easy for Lionel, no cost for new tooling, a engine that always sells well. It’s money in the bank

Sell the old and get the new. Just like buying a new car every year or two.

I was excited to see this , 8 locomotives to choose from, 7 are NYC. I was hoping for a Lionel Lines version, especially since it is supposed to be Lionel’s 125th anniversary.
Perhaps METCA or the LCCA could offer a Lionel Lines version as a custom run?
Paging Stu!!!
