The Ryan & Dave show lasted only a brief 15+ minutes and walked through the new Vision Line Hudson announcement. No mention of any other Vision Line locomotives -- not even the recently delivered Triplex models.
All in all, they did a nice job. Unfortunately, I was technology challenged today... and YouTube was fighting with me. For some reason, I had forgotten that I need to use Safari in order for YouTube to recognize my account/channel. I was using Firefox at the time, and it wasn't playing nice with YouTube... so I couldn't comment or participate in the real-time chat.
Only after the show ended, did I remember to use Safari... and I was then able to leave a comment on the YouTube video. But I missed the opportunity to post the comment when Ryan asked for questions from the audience. Timing!!! And technology... ughhh!!!!!
All is not lost though... as I believe Trainworld is also hosting an announcement "live" event with Ryan and Dave in mid-October. So perhaps I'll get my thoughts posted then... and see if Ryan responds. I wanted to remind them to ensure the red/gray Pacemaker Hudson doesn't use the chalky, primer-looking gray color on the smokebox. IMHO, that really cheapens the look of an otherwise finely scaled model. The recently delivered Mountains and Triplexes avoided that mistake. So hopefully the Pacemaker Hudson gets an appropriate gray finish on its smokebox as well. We shall see.
On a somewhat related note... Ryan did mention some dealers have already been considering a custom-run or two... So stay tuned, before placing those pre-orders too soon!!!
I have no issue using Firefox for youtube. Question, do you have add blocker on firefox? If you do you need it disabled for Youtube. Add blockers and Youtube don't play nice together.

Well here's the first special run
I like this one. Thank you for sharing! FYI, it's no where near prototypical. If you care but most of the offerings aren't correct so have at it.

FYI, it's no where near prototypical. If you care but most of the offerings aren't correct so have at it. How is it different? B&A had J2 Hudsons not a J1e, smaller drivers, B&A Hudson’s had hand me down tenders from the NYC late in steam era which will be correct but by that time B&A engines had square sand domes which no manufacture has done correctly. Just some of the differences B&A hudson

Just some of the differences B&A hudson Thank you for the explanation. I just got the notice from Mr. Muffin. First, I want to say is "Thank you" to Steve (Mr. Muffin) for all the support to custom runs from all manufacturers. It looks like the B&A Hudson will be green. While that is prototypical, I would prefer black, so I am going to pass on this one.

You know Mr. Muffins will have at least one special run. He's the special run king.
... Mr. Muffin's email today announced 3 custom-runs (green B&A, grey NYC, and a golden bronz P&LE), the last of which is still awaiting approval by Lionel (P&LE). I'm assuming the green B&A might match the green for the upcoming B&A Berk... which I ultimately decided to pass on. The grey color pictured in the second custom-run looks dangerously close to that chalky, primer grey that appears as if the factory never finished the locomotive beyond a primer coat. No way I'd risk that at these prices.
Perhaps it's my old age setting in. But I'm finding all these different models hard to decipher. Mr. Muffin's email about custom-runs is VERY confusing. The images don't seem to match the descriptions, roadnames and roadnumbers. I couldn't make heads or tails of the colors until I re-read the email multiple times. And I'm still not 100% certain.
To be honest... aside from the NYC Pacemaker Hudson's paint scheme in Lionel's Vision Line announcement yesterday, I can't make heads or tales out of ANY of the other color schemes. How are buyers supposed to decide? Lionel needs to do a much, MUCH better job illustrating colors for their BTO products -- especially when subtle variations are involved.
For example, it wasn't until Mr. Muffin's Trains posted a video of the Mountain M1's a couple of weeks ago, that we could TRULY KNOW the paint finish and subtle variations across different models of those locomotives (i.e., glossy vs. flat finish, smokebox color, shade of gray for the passenger model, etc...). The catalog showed NONE OF THAT. Were it not for Steve's video, I would not have purchased a Mountain M1 until I saw them with my own eyes. And that's really unacceptable for a big-ticket BTO product.
