No time for trains this time of year. Chasing this guy around. Is that a 10-2-2, or a 12-2-2?

While I don't hunt deer...I should...you could pick a few off in our forest. They nibbled Mrs Red Jimmys' pumpkin and other plants. I do enjoy deer jerky...

Use to hunt when younger. Every year with friends out to Wyoming or Montanna for deers. Got my fair share. Around the farm when younger, Rabbits and Pheasants. I always had game on the table and kept freezer full. Then when I came home from my Senior vacation, provided by Uncle Sam, I lost my taste for hunting and have never since hunted again. I tried once though, but wasn't for me anymore.

Did skeet shooting at age 17 and later on did competitive shooting when I was young but after my military service I never picked up a gun again. Just lost the reason and the will to shoot!!

I’m a shooter but not a hunter. I did a lot of shooting when I was younger. Now I go to the range once or twice a year to maintain my skills.
I don’t approve of killing animals for food. I get my meat at the supermarket or restaurant where no animals were harmed. 🤪

OBTW I'm a bow hunter. Long guns aren't hunting. Thats sniping IMHO. Not one of those fancy compound bows with 80% let off and all the fancy doodads. I use an old Fred Bear Super Grizzly 2 recurve that I bought over 60 years ago. Although the 65# pull gets tougher every year for this old man. I believe in "fair chase". I don't sit 30' in a tree all day or park my arse on a stump. I "walk n stalk". Some call it "still" hunting. Keep all my shots 25 yards or less. Wind in the face. Stop, look & listen. Get upfront and personal. More of a challenge. Keep my old sorry arse in shape. Sleep real good after a long day. The work starts after he's on the ground 3 miles from the house. No Alfred, he's not one of Santas!!! lol. I know this may rub some people the wrong way. If it does I apologize and will delete it. Rob
