Stripped, hired contractor to finish ceiling & repaint. 7/21
I wanted the room to have an industrial atmosphere, not liking the cold air duct. Requested it be boxed, I beam & return were left exposed. 7/26 After installing track lighting, using a laser level, produced a witness line around the room. Installed 2 x 4s as first surface mount point.
Having some realestate, track work begins 7/28

You turned that into a nice train room. I’m looking forward to seeing your new layout come to life.

I wish I had that space! Looks great.
Just an idea for future considerations. Many art galleries often paint the ceilings and assorted ducts and pipes, a flat black. This results in a display where the viewer’s eyes are not drawn upward to the ceiling….

The cornerstone 8 turnouts must be centered. Installing back to back need a small straight section to connect, physically & electrically.
The track GarGraves is tricky to cut, seen is the solution for clean & even cuts. The saw blade is for a 4" angle grinder.
Turnouts temporary placed straight track cut to fit
. Installed, wired remote control up next

Moving slowly as I am waiting for the backdrops,
Fitting the track thorough the corners, laying down the road bead. Turnouts are working and permanently placed. I can reach over them to install the backdrops.
Desk top manufacturing producing supplies.
Paint shop doing its thing
Utility/power company wired the turnouts & started the track buss.
Of course the Locomotive getting an upgrade.

Tom I think he is looking for the "sky" effect of the blue ceiling and walls (horizon) and then once the table takes shape, he will go and paint in the backdrop to form the horizon, mountains, etc. Looks really great! Your contractor did good! Hope you put in a lot of outlets and dedicated this room to its own breaker(s).
