You might get lucky but it would be unusual for someone to break up the set sell the engine and keep the cars. Have you thought about looking for the set and then selling off the cars. That’s what I did with the Lionel H10 coal hauler set from a few years ago. Unfortunately the major value is in the engine so I’m not sure how much you would get for the cars. Just thought about something. There is a TCA member that sells at York in the silver hall. I know he had that set at one time. If you are going to York I’ll give you his location. If you are not going I’ll ask him if he still has that set for sale.

Just checked e-bay. Trainz has the set for sale and they go to York so if you buy it from them you might be able to pick it up and save on the shipping. Just a thought.
