I’ve added a shelf to my Mianne benchwork for some additional storage. I picked up a 3/4 inch birch veneer sheet of plywood and it fit perfectly and matches the rest of the benchwork. How can I secure the track without using screws as I may want to repurpose the shelf in the future.

If you were storing engines on those tracks their sheer weight would keep them in place - based in my own experience of display shelves. Otherwise I would just use BlueTack to keep the tracks in place if you are worried about securing them without screws.

Mmm, if you can get the geometry to work out, you might be able to extend and secure each section of track at both ends with clips, or perhaps a few drops of sticky glue or non-hardening putty underneath to hold the track in place yet still be easily removeable. Since the new shelf (nice job BTW!) probably won't be subject to much lateral motion, just about anything (perhaps even two-sided or foam tape) should do to temporarily locate and secure the track to the shelf. I use a roll of cheap two sided foam tape from the dollar store to hold in place lots of stuff around the layout, like buck converter PCBs, or even the limit switches in the animated bridge project I'm currently working on. Easy peasy to install, and not too difficult to pull up and remove/replace at need.

Good old Walther's GOO. If it leaves any residue when removed use acetone to clean it up.

The reason I was concerned about securing the track is once I start putting some rolling stock on the four tracks, I plan to keep my engines on a fixed shelf on the other side of my layout, is I may need to move the layout out of the way to do maintenance or some other need. The layout is on casters and can be moved.

This may work, it is a double sided woodworking tape. Attachments:

I don't but my shelves are permanent, It would take a lot to send my trains off the shelf. 1) my track is heavier than most of yours, 2) my train cars are probably around 2 - 4 times the weight of most of yours, 3) and my engines are probably weigh more than your big boys. So there not going anywhere and time soon.
