In the Lionel 2024 Vol 2 catalog description of the American Railroads make your own set included 'open air' cars in the consist. Yet there were no open air cars offered.
Then it occurred to me that despite numerous Excursion engine paint schemes/versions and Excursion consists that neither Lionel Atlas, or MTH had to my knowledge produced open air excursion cars.
There are indeed several DIY kits out there and ON30 Bachman open air coaches, even intrepid hobbyists with Dremel tools amputating portions of stock coaches to good effect, but again nothing from Atlas, Lionel, or MTH.
So should the periodic thread about what this that our the other O sale company should make next, top of my list is open air excursion cars.
