What’s with You Tube lately.
When I log onto the app using my iPad I get right in to the latest videos but when I try to log in on my TV it wants me to sign up using my Google account. Yesterday we converted all of our TV’s here at our vacation home installing Roku’s for TV service and broadband and VOIP for phone.
When I went on to watch some You Tube videos on our TV in the Great Room I was asked to sign into a You Tube account using Google. There was no workaround so I just gave up and went back to using my iPad.
Anyone have any ideas. I know several of the forum members post You Tube videos so maybe they could weigh in on the subject.

I just use my tablet for YT. I don't know what's going on unless it's a security issue.

Google and YouTube are one and the same. Your YouTube account is your google account and visa versa

If you have a smart TV, now you can project what you are watching from your tablet or phone. just look for the TV icon in the upper RH corner of the YouTube video.

Something similar is what I've noticed. YT now wants $$ for a version that leaves out commercials, on top of all the $$ we already OVERPAY for cable or even basic internet.
