For me, York and Allentown train shows are coming up. I don't really have anything specific I'm looking for. I'd like to model SMS #1961 a GE B23-7. The only problem is there are no O gauge models of the B23-7. The closest I can find is an AtlasO U23B, but it would need some major modifications. Most notably, the bat wing in the rear would have to be added and two side windows would need to be filled in. Among some other smaller cosmetic things. If I find an exceptional deal on an AtlasO B23-7, maybe I'll pull the trigger. How about you? If you find an exceptional deal, what are you going to buy at the next train show?

I’m going to York in October but don’t really have any must haves. If I came across the LCCA tinplate set they produced I’d like to pick that up. Other than that I can’t think of anything else.
It’s mostly a social event for me.

Other than a few parts, there’s nothing on the gotta-have list. The last few times up I was looking for a nice Flyer 420, but Ray Ellen filled that gap a month or so ago. If I was to stumble onto something extraordinary, than maybe, but I think I’m finally coming around to the notion that I just have too much. That’s like a door closing...depresses me. I need to find a way to transition to dealing with/running all of the stuff I have already and start dispositioning some of the duplicates.

Going to both shows and not really looking for anything but a Lionel Legacy SD40-2 in Southern Pacific for a good price may get my attention. Allentown, ill be looking for some parts like a bell for my Lionel legacy Mikado and a few other things. My legs are not what they used to be so York I rent a scooter, so watch out. At Allentown I have to walk so its a slow process. Good thing I know where to sit for a rest.

Slightly off topic, but could you use existing parts to achieve the radiator you need? I sift through various model companies and check out their parts sections for kitbashing projects… With Lionel, I came up with this… www.lionelsupport.com/RADIATOR-HOUSING-U-28C-PRRMany radiators listed on the Lionel site. Awww...go to October York you folks!! My friends didn't go to spring York...don't blame them. I went and came upon some great train signs; the real deal from the B&O deaccquisition sale from a few years back. Would of missed them if I didn't go.

My daughter and I will be going to York again this Fall. I have a very specific list of items that I am looking for. The last 2 Yorks we went to we came away empty handed. That's okay as we enjoyed the day.
