Well its been a bad year. Just after my last post in Feb, my other Siberian Huskey Jasmine continued to have bladder infections and passed away in July from complications from Kidney failure at age 16.5. No thanks to her crappy Vet who caused the issues to resurface. On a better note, my layout is progressing mainly due to trying to have discipline and not change it. As a refresher, it depicts the New York Central and Harlem, in New York City, during the years of 1885-1899. especially the Park Avenue (4th Avenue) stone viaduct that is still in use by Metro North in 2024 in NYC. A representation of the 125th street elevated commuter station, and eventually either Grand Central Depot and/or Grand Central Terminal, or both once I figure out the best location. Still using MTH Command Control, MTH trains and MTH Track, but I will add Lionel Legacy as I have done before with some Lionel Legacy and TMCC. The problem is space....always. Just reached age 62, bad arthritis, couple of trips to ER for a mystery illness of loss of equilibrium, inability to speak, feeling of weights pinning my legs and arms down. First they thought mini stroke, then blood sugar issues, and now possibly due to my Neck and/or spine whose disc's and vertebrate is either fused, bulging or narrowing. But, I grin and bear it and am still working. Plan to retire at age 65 instead of age 62 because my Federal Employment retirement and Social Security Retirement needs to be a bit higher. Soooo, save money and payoff any loans or credit during the next 3 years. And! Get this layout done! I will post some photos after I take my old man nap! Hope everyone has been well. I missed you all very much! Maybe get snow this winter! Not had anything but dusting's since 2019.

Looking forward to seeing a few photos.
FYI, your full-retirement age for SS is likely 66-67 years old; check on it, then hang in there as long as you can. Every year you can defer taking it adds to your monthly benefit.
I hope we get some snow this winter, but the Hagerstown Almanac paints a bleak picture in that regard. My "new" electric snow-blower was dead-on-arrival...it needs to go to the dealer for warranty work. If I get it fixed, guaranteed to never snow. If I don't get it fixed, probably get forty inches.

As the hang man said to the convicted felon on the gallows, 'Just hang in there'. But seriously just put one foot in front of the other and keep walking. It is one step at a time. And each step is a victory!

Welcome back!
Sorry to hear about your dog. Ours are getting older and I worry more and more about how much timee we have left with them.
Can’t wait to see your layout progress!

Glad to have you back. Sorry about the loss of Jasmine. Take care of yourself and stick with it until you can retire. Focus on and enjoy the trains. Alfred
