One thing on the picture I posted on the 400 Engine, I just noticed how shiny the Tender was compared to the engine. Something to consider when weathering next time.

I hadn’t noticed when I first saw this picture but you are right. The tender is shiny while the engine is dull.

I would love to have a model of this engine but I suspect, scale, mainline C&NW passenger steam, is a dying interest. Since this was for the premier "400" train, maybe the tender was washed before the engine and that is when the image was shot?

Nice photo.
If they had a wash facility, the brushes work better on the broad flat surfaces. The recessed areas don’t get hit as well.
