Just wanted everyone to know that whoever has been in contact with me in the last 7 days should stay indoors and contact your nearest test center. I’m so so sorry to everyone of my friends and family and those who have been in close proximity to me. I have had symptoms for a few days now and it has just been confirmed. I have been diagnosed with being immature, awesome, hilarious, and completely off my rocker. I was told there is no cure as of yet for all 4 of these symptoms.

Oh my God, I’m so sorry to hear this. Those symptoms will morph into irresponsibility, causing you to buy trains with impunity! I think the medical term is called “Joe McDokesitis” (Latin term ‘Trainicus acquire em lotsicus’)

I have a HO set from late 50's early 60's, O gauge, Standard Gauge, and G scale. n and z is just to small for my eyes LOL. HO is just for display.

The irresistible urge sickness to buy more and more trains has hit many of us. After acquiring more trains that I need or will ever use the urge went away but only after completing my dream layout. I realized that only 4 sets at a time could be run so why are 30 sets required? . As a result I only "spot buy" today but still love to attend Allentown browse, talk trains and say hello to the folks.

I've been infected for some time now. My wife doesn't understand the need to buy more trains.

I've told my wife I'm sorry I must of infected you also, as you can't stop wanting another purse or wallet. So it is contagious. So keep wife's at a distance.

Doesn't work for most of us, I've tried, I have more trains than I can ever or will ever use but last night because it was such a good deal I bought another set of 428, 429, & 430 standard gauge passenger cars in Orange, that gives me 3 sets of them.

At least yours is physical - I was diagnosed with severe Psychoferroequineinfatuation complex. The only way to temporarily bring it under control is to speed read old Ives, Lionel, and American Flyer catalogs... after calming down I have to take two aspirin and call my doctor in the morning to schedule some time to talk through my latest episode.

Yes, there are quite a few variants circulating, with quite different symptoms for each. For instance, I haven't noticed any particular urge to empty my wallet every time I see an orange and blue box, but I *have* had the irresistible urge to scratch-build 1:48 scale models of random train-related or -adjacent structures in my home town, such as the old train station: Or the nearby Cambridge Creek bridge (a work still in progress: Or, adding holiday decorations to the RFC train garden building (formerly the fire station): The bottom line is that my wallet is still (relatively) intact, but my days (and nights!) have been virtually *consumed* by my manias, so I guess I've been infected by at least one strain of 'consumption' that's circulating . . .

Good projects...you need to build a model of that freight station. It looks very interesting as freight depots go.

Yeah, unlike the station itself (which has been refurbished and now houses a real estate company), the freight depot is long gone, but when I unearthed old photos, I had the same thought. I have a lot on my plate at the moment, but it's definitely on the 'list' for eventual recreation, though!
