Lionel's web store had an 8/19/2024 arrival date for its Vision Line Triplex, but now there's no mention of an ETA. And the one model that isn't "sold out" on the online store is the pilot... which still has a pre-order button -- not an "add to cart" button. Likewise, Charles Ro on shows "backorder"... no ETA. OTOH, Trainworld is showing their ETA as 9/21/2024.
Perhaps a closer indicator will be when one of Steve Nelson's (Mr. Muffin's Trains) emails indicates they're "next due in from Lionel". Until then, I guess they're still on the high seas. So they'll get here when they get here. And dealers will need to wait a bit longer for that surge in cash-flow.

A watched pot never boils would seem to be an apt saying to consider in the when will they arrive angst.

I'm sure the F-19's being returned to Lionel's overseas factory gave the incoming Triplexes their rightful salute, as the ships passed on the high seas.

Hopefully the Triplex will not do a U turn as well.

I asked Steve Nelson last Friday about the Triplex's during his office hours. He said the triplex's were expected to arrive at Lionel this week. I will ask again tomorrow night at his next session to see if they have arrived yet or not. Its typically another week or 2 after that when they begin to ship from the retailers.

Based on what I saw on another forum, an observer of the estimated ship date patterns on the Lionel Store found when a product is close to shipping to dealers, the estimated ship date is removed from the product listing in the Lionel Store entry. I hope that he's right.

I hope that he's right. Yes… the real key is when the pre-order button changes to add-to-cart. That’s the indication that the store has them to ship. In the case of the Triplex, however, all models except for the pilot are sold-out. So that’s the only model that will change from pre-order to add-to-cart. Although sometimes, once Lionel has a better handle on the quantity that’s arrived, we might see a couple of SKU’s in the store change to “few left” or “last one”.

Mr. Muffin emailed this morning that the TriPlex is next in from Lionel.

On the other hand there is no definition for what 'next' means! But we will know shortly I suppose. All things come to those who wait.

On the other hand there is no definition for what 'next' means! But we will know shortly I suppose. … Usually it’s an indicator of what’s due to arrive in Lionel’s “next” shipment. And quite often there are end-of-month shipments — especially in the 3rd and 4th quarters. So the Labor Day estimate mentioned earlier seems about right. And you can believe dealers are gonna turn these jewels around FAST.
