I wish they wouldn’t start in August. It’s too early for me to think about Christmas.

But they do It every year, it forces some of the others to do the same.

What's the rush, Hobby Lobby? Have a bad case of corporate greed?? I agree that it's pretty much bad taste to rush the holidays upon us.

Not a big fan of Hobby Lobby, nor the folks that run it. They engage in some pretty predatory business practices aimed at driving out there competition. The kicker for me was the smuggling incident from around 2011, where Hobby Lobby got nailed for acquiring and importing over three thousand items suspected to have been looted from Iraq following the Second Gulf War. Customs Enforcement seized the stuff and Hobby Lobby ended up surrendering the materials and forfeiting some three million bucks they paid for it. My recollection is that it was a front for the Green family and their Museum of the Bible operation. Nope, I'll stick with my local Michael's.

Back in the day, Border's would start playing Christmas music in their stores in July. The weather outside is frightful lyric was not intended for hurricanes or thunder storms!

Dave It's not unusual for Hobby Lobby to start this early. Let's be honest, "Hobby" Lobby isn't a hobby store. It's a CRAFT store, that happens to have an aisle or two of hobby stuff. Last time I checked the one close to me, their hobby section got EVEN smaller than before. It's a store that's half crafts, half decor, and all cheap Chinese crap Just like Michael's. The other craft store we had JOANN fabric and craft went out of business. I was in Menard's the other day. While they have a small Halloween display. The train stuff is still upstairs. While I was up there I noticed there were 6 or 7 employees working on a mass of Christmas crap getting it ready to put out. I remember when I was going to grade school we used to have Halloween party's and Christmas party's. Can't do that anymore.

Not only do the stores start early with Christmas decor, they also end it early. By the first week of December try and find something for the tree or a string of lights for your house!! They'll already have the lawn and garden stuff on display.

This does not surprise me. Last year when I was at hobby lobby, I saw Christmas starting to be set up the 1st week of August. Probably this year or years after won't be any different.

To early, we still have to deal with witches and goblins and then we have to shove a pumpkin in a turkey
