In my experience, it has proven prudent not to buy the first version of just about anything, be it a car, dishwasher, or CAB 3. Let the other hard chargers/early adopters work out the bugs and I will be very happy to benefit from their efforts when the new improved version of the CAB 3 hardware/software is issued as a result.

Nassau Hobbies is selling the Base3 for $403.00. Best price I can find is some eBay seller for 429.00. I see prices from dealers from 500 to 450 so that Nassau price is darn good

I agree, and I’m holding out till the bitter end, and it croaks altogether, ….problem is, sketchy reports flying around that Lionel has or is going to cease repair of the Cab 2, and then when that happens, we’ll all be SOL, ….I’m not sure what side of the fence I belong on, MTH’s control system is up in the air, and it seems Lionel is going to be debugging the Cab3 for the foreseeable future, so I guess let’s pray our trusty Cab2’s will hold up,…..😁 Pat The Water Level Route

I don't have the cab2, cab1L or the base3 but I can run all my locomotives with the Cab1, conventional, or my legacy engines with Bluetooth with the universal remote, Lionchief app or the cab 1. Non Bluetooth can be run with cab1, conventional.
