Some of you use super glue which permanently glues them to seats but also might gas out and cloud the windows while others hot glue the figures to hold them secure and figures can be removed if the need arises. I have heard some people use white glue too while others use nonpermanent sticky dots but has anyone had experience using museum wax to fix your passengers to their seats? I want my figures not to become loose in their seats but also be removable without leaving visible marring or damage if I should ever want to remove them. What do you suggest I use?

Not Museum wax, but Lemax offers a sticky wax which I believe may be similar.

The white tacky glue is best if you want the option to detach the passengers without damaging the seat surfaces. I have always fixed my passengers in place permanently and so epoxy or SuperGlue works. I haven't found that the latter clouds out the windows unless it is actually applied to them - cellulose glues like contact cement can have that effect and I never use them near windows let alone to attach them.

Hmmm...that's very interesting. I never realized that. I've not used contact cement on any project, but certainly something that one should be aware of. Thanks.

I installed over 100+ passengers in my MTH Pennsylvania passenger cars and I use only plastic glue. let them sit for 3 days before putting them together.

shortliner, I cannot add anything to the thread - all of my passengers are sillouettes on plastic window strips. Alfred

I use RTV3145 or RTV3140. Good stuff, holds very well and can be removed with a little effort. Stuff expensive, used in the electronics field but I get it free at work when the shelf life expires even though it last for ever.
