I searched but all I could find is that itβs a rechargeable battery that can go 6 days between charges.

Is there anyone who knows what battery is used to operate a FRED? Maybe an ETHYL? [Sorry/not sorry!]

If it's a flat battery, then it's a 2032. At least for mine.

A real FRED or a model? Real ones have different sizes so will need a picture.

Did you open it to look at the battery? I would bet that Batteries Plus has one.

Weren't no battery in it then neither. Little hard to take something you don't have to Batteries Plus and ask if they have one in stock or to look it online. Ain't no little decal in there saying what battery to put in the empty box to make it work. Attachments:

That's when you do some measuring ans check bulb voltage The measuring I can do. The blub is another story. I've tried to get to it, but, without destroying the case, it seems pert near impossible to do that thanks fer the tips.

Problem solved! I want to thank all the folks that offered their help & support for the village idiot! Tried to show a movie, but file was too big! Excuse me, I'm the only village idiot around here.π Glad you got it to work. Happen to get eye level with the front and noted a very small tag that gave the voltage-12- model #, & who made it. Looked up 12 volt batteries, ordered one, bought a 3 volt flasher from Evans, which actually worked, then found 12 volt bulb from Evans, so put it on. I could find no way to get to the damn bulb, so drilled a 5/16th hole in the bulb shield, stuck the bulb in, taped it, connected the posts............................. Is village idiot an elected position? If so, will I be seeing it listed on a ballot near me?
