The box came today from upstate new York with the K-LINE EP-5 with tmcc, sounds, cruise. My old friend for at least 40 years and has a nice collection decided to sell a few things and he offered me this EP5 for a great price. He said it was like new. After unpacking it and doing some lubrication my friend was correct, it was rarely used, no nicks, scratches, paint loss or anything I could find. Everything works as built also, glad to have it. I neglected to say that this was gonna be on the secondary mkt if I didn't buy it. It just goes to show there are alot of great trains on the secondary mkt and for the price I paid it was a steal and checking around it was in the range of other ones I saw being sold but my buddy told he would be the cheapest and of course and he was by about $25.00. so I'm very happy. You dont have to held hostage by the train makers today, look around and search the tons of O gauge trains on the market. You will never know what you will find.

Just be gentle with the pilots on the engine. After I built my E40 out of a K-Line EP-5, I learned that the pilots tend to suffer from zinc rot and snap off some models. Some break, some are okay. Best of luck with your new motor! “Jets” are cool! Tom

I have always liked the EP5's, had a few of the mpc versions especially the Pennsylvania ran better than most of the engines back then. Dave

Thanks Dave. I have another EP-5 in New Haven colors. It is a PS-1 MTH Premier. I bought it to build another E-40 but didn’t get around to it yet…lol.

The mods went fairly quick. I painted it with Scalecoat II black paint and decaled it with K-4 decals. Tom
