When I have the reconditioned motor, back in the engine, I'll be ready to test that transformer, again. IMHO, the transformer looks good and clean and the power cord looks to be in good condition. I really want to keep the set as original as possible. Sounds good -- just be ready to pull the plug if it starts to smoke! Seriously, though, I'd just hook it up and try running the train, once you get the refurb'ed motor back back. If everything works, you're good to go, and if not, just start troubleshooting . . .

Well, how did you make out with the M-10000? Up and running satisfactorily, or still a few issues?

Ugh...I wasn't following. I just sold a box of xformers, including 2-3 of the 40-50 watt variety, all working and in good shape. Seems that's the way it always plays out; those things had sat under the workbench for ten years, at least.
