Will a Cab 2 remote connect to the new base 3 or do you still need the 990 Cab 2 base?

From what I understand, the 990 is no longer necessary as the Cab2 talks with the Base3. However, while the locomotive roster in the 990 can be transferred (somewhat) to the Base3, the Train definitions and Accessories cannot until the B3SU (utility program) becomes available in a month or two. So I wouldn't toss your 990 just yet.
I think peeps are having fun "dabbling" with the Base3 now, But all the pieces aren't in place yet for a full-blown implementation that covers all bases (no pun intended).

On thing I know from Dave Olson is, if you have a Base 3 and you plan on using the cab2 remote with it. If you are using the 990 base to charge the remote, the 990 needs to be away from the layout as to prevent interference. That is antenna removed, and totally disconnected from the layout.
I don't think that's well known yet.
