My journey into Standard Gauge Tinplate has come and gone. But I did save one O-Gauge tinplate train for days when the tinplate charm strikes me.
Anyway... I couldn't help but notice that today -- mixed in with MTH's announcement of additional Z-6 Challengers -- they're bringing Tinplate Tradition Monorails back to market. ETA is December 2024. Personally, I would have picked something other than monorails to resurrect MTH's Tinplate Tradition line. But hey... what do I know???

When I talked to Rich foster in the April york he mentioned of the tinplate that would be resurrected this year if possible. I did post it here on the OGF.

A return of Tinplate would be welcome. The few places that still make it are very expensive. We have a nice layout at the clubhouse owned by one of the members and all enjoy running trains on it.

There is already a parallel thread on this topic in the Tinplate Board where it properly belongs. I have a wooden ruler and I know how to use it!

It is likely the most simple thing to manufacture and which they still have the tooling for which may account for the selection. Not one of my favorite items but it is a start.

This is the board that most everyone reads, lets not muck it up with a bunch of subtitles.

My foray into tinplate has come and gone too. I still appreciate it and I'm glad to see that MTH is back to making it. I did notice a few months ago that they had just released some Standard Gauge track.

This is the board that most everyone reads, lets not muck it up with a bunch of subtitles. Not to worry it is a tongue in cheek reference to over moderated forums of all types. However to your comment if most everybody as you state reads/posts to this Board regardless of topic why then do we have the other Board topics? Just asking. This is not an argument.

I was told that the 400e will be the first to be resurrected. But I will believe it when I see it.

I was told that the 400e will be the first to be resurrected. But I will believe it when I see it. I heard the same thing…400e…two years ago. Lately, I heard it will be made in South Korea. If it is made, it will be interesting what the MSRP will be. Will it be $2000 like I see for NOS on EBay? Or higher because it will be under warranty, or lower? I bet the MSRP will be $2100.00.
