I would like to see this railroad. Up and coming here in Michigan. I know they would sell a bunch: The 6301 looks SHARP!. I'd buy one.

Halloween GG-1 VL or MTH Premier A Halloween GG-1 would be cool in black and orange. Any dealers that would sponsor something like that? Predominately orange with black lettering/graphic decorations would really pop.

Word on the street is Mr. Muffin’s Trains is targeting THIRTY-TWO custom runs coinciding with Lionel’s 2024 Vol 2 Catalog. Whoa!!! Nothing immediately jumped out at me. But his choice of 3 Vision GG-1’s -- including the colorful bicentennial version and two Pennsy single-stripe versions -- should be popular. This bicentennial model at $1,600 will cut the eBay shysters off right at the knees, since they're often trying to snag $3,500 for the 2016 version. I just LOVE when that happens.
BTW... I know a few other dealers are planning some custom-runs as well. So don’t spend all your money just yet. LOL!!!

Speaking of which, I see METCA has added a new handful of cool offerings as well... including another Vision GG-1 variation (very nice!), more SD70ACE's and a 6464 boxcar!!! And we haven't seen the end of custom-run mania yet!!!
But come on, Stu... you've gotta work on the price of your 6464 boxcars. If Charles Ro can sell them for $50-$70, why should we spend (ahem... PREPAY) $100 with METCA?

Mr. Muffin is not unlike the EveryReady Bunny! Unbelievable enthusiasm for the hobby which is terrific. Now if only he would do/offer a VL GG-1 Halloween scheme.

… Now if only he would do/offer a VL GG-1 Halloween scheme. Since Lionel signs off on custom-runs, I’d like to think they’d be inclined to share with any dealer/club seeking to produce a Vision GG1 Halloween model how well the Halloween Triplex sold — or didn’t. The GG1 is a bit more reasonable. But the Triplex response might be a good bellwether.
Keep in mind the minimum commitment is 40 units. Mr. Muffins would have been a likely sponsor, but he’s already looking to produce 3. Perhaps you can get METCA, Brady, Pat’s Trains or Trainworld to think about it?
Also keep in mind not all custom-runs are announced NOW. If a dealer or club are confident (i.e., comfortable) with an idea, they might proceed on-spec now and make the formal announcement down the road. Gutsy move. But METCA has been known to do that, as they recently did with their clear-shell E6 offering.
BTW, yet another fantasy GG1 paint scheme that deserves consideration is a Christmas Sleighbell Limited model to head up last years premium passenger set. Now that would be tempting!!! Afterall, if Lionel can do a Polar Express Acela as part of its regular catalog, this era of custom-run-mania should be able to handle a Sleighbell Limited GG1!!!

Two more custom run steamers announced recently by Train Loft: an H7 in a “what-if“ D&RGW paint scheme in the spirit of last year’s custom run D&RGW Big Boy. Very detailed and the paint scheme is super-sharp on the H7!
Also…. a Train Loft custom-run N&W Y6b in a black and maroon fantasy paint scheme. The Y6b is a bit of sleeper in Lionel's latest catalog, since it's not Vision Line, per se. But the Y6b has always been a favorite, nicely detailed steam locomotive of mine.
Meanwhile, Mr. Muffin’s Trains has also added a custom-run U.S. Army olive green Y6b.
Where’s John Brady in all of this? Haven’t heard anything about new 2024 Vol2 custom-runs from Brady’s Train Outlet yet. He usually announces a handfull... although once in awhile he'll offer one or two "on spec", and those get announced AFTER Lionel's BTO pre-order deadline. So we shall see.

That will be a good looking model. Can't wait for them to put on their website where they have the C&O H7 already. Since the H7 was from Vol 1, not Vol 2, they must have ordered the D&RGW and not yet announced it until now? Stu

I think I saw that Lionel was offering a "Slieghbell Limited" GG1, so keep some money set aside for that!!!! Well almost. The Lionel Store is doing a Polar Express GG-1 exclusive. Yes.... I just saw the email and was gonna mention that here. Seems each day or two, another custom-run shoe drops. It's tough to make ANY commitments with the dust refusing to settle. I would have preferred a Sleighbell Ltd GG1, but I can see where Lionel figures they can sell a bunch of P/E GG1's. Lionel catalog'd a Bipolar and Acela in P/E liveries in recent years. So I guess they have a pretty good handle on what sells.
Still no word from Brady's Train Outlet on 2024 Volume 2 custom-runs, so there's still hope. OTOH, I wonder how many of these big-ticket goodies the market can absorb. A dealer commitment of 40+ units of GG1's or H7's or Y6b's ain't chump change by any stretch of the imagination.
