I won an auction for 5 Lionel postwar freight cars that are in very good condition. One interesting finding was that all 5 had Lionel build dates from 1950's or earlier, 3 boxcars and 2 hoppers. So all 5 were 70 years old or older, darn near as old as me and they seemed to be in better shape than me. They had 70 years worth of accumulating grime and dust so a cleaning was required. When I took the Pennsy operating boxcar apart for cleaning and oiling I found this Lionel inspection card inside. My winning bid for the lot was $30 so not a bad deal for $6 per car. Bill

A good score. Definitely worth more than $6 apiece.

Bill - can't have too many post war Lionel box cars - at a great price too. Great about finding the inspection card. I am still waiting for my second State of Maine box car. Alfred
