Received a Charles Ro email this morning indicating Alco S2’s, GP7’s, some heavyweight passenger cars and miscellaneous 6464-style boxcars have arrived in-house.
Still to arrive yet this summer are the F-19 steamers (mid-July) and Vision Triplexes (mid-August) according to Lionel’s webstore. So get those wallets ready!!!

On YouTube Sean's Trains he indicated that the engines were delayed. Since Lionel had produced this engine before, and it was my impression that the original tooling was used again, does anyone have insights as to why this engine would be characterized as being late? No attempt at controversy or criticism of Sean just interested in insight.

I don't have much on pre-order anymore, just the Lionel Northern Pacific Doodlebug. I don't count the RMT BN wood chip hoppers anymore since its been over a year with lots of excuses from Walter.

Today's note of interesting trivia: I received two of the heavyweight style "training cars" today... haven't opened them yet. But I noticed the shipping box for them indicated "Made In Vietnam". So when feasible, it seems Lionel is selectively choosing factories in other overseas countries for their product. Hopefully, quality is up to speed on these special cars in terms of fit/finish, color, and special sounds/dialog.

Hopefully the results will exceed those of my Pacemaker cars of a few years back which had misapplied or missing altogether grab irons on several cars. That and Sean's Trains reports that the GW heavyweights he received had variations within the same packs color and sheen wise that disappointed him. Sean is not a big fan of the Vietnam factory output thus far. Check out his channel for a full review.
Any model train importer is smart to diversify their production solely from China. We consumers however may have to endure a learning curve from these alternate sources.
