If I find trains on the cheep or handed to me. I don't mind passing along the deal. I have not constructed my layout yet, but when I do I am going to post items at a price ' that I really don't want to see them again' number.
I figure if I can pass the hobby on to someone else then my job here is done.

I feel no necessity posting on the other forum. I stopped posting long ago when I noticed that my truthful experience with O gauge trains were being deleted for no reason at all. I was always polite, never vulgar and never insulted any member. It was just overly heavy moderating that drove me away. They could do anything that they wish over there and it will make no difference to me, They have been erased from my hobby and now it seems they are squeezing their members and on their way to becoming a paid member only place.

Hmm, correct , there is no choice in the miscellaneous forum. Showing For sale!!!, bout near lack of need of my purchasing, anyway. Amazing how I walk into Trn/show, and come out with a coke, and my $$$$ still in pocket. I mean, Alaska Rail Rd, and CP Rail. not gonna fill the shelves, at shows. And I was only utilizing that forum for sale, as a pass the time away cause you cant search for peoples email, anyway. Basically I could care less.

On and my feeling about the "other Forum". Yes, when I started looking for info, etc. on Model Railroading it was the first thing that popped up and I joined and participated. But over time I started seeing changes, some great hobbyist were leaving, anything negative about a product were deleted, but was able to catch many before they ended up in their trash bins. Honest reviews were not welcomed, they had to be in the nature of praising their sponsors. Then I noticed the "Brownies" coming out and notifying their leaders about negative post that they should censore. I also started feeling it really wasn't a Forum for the Hobbyist, rather a Money Making Forum and to keep the cash Cow flowing, dictarship evolved to keep it a business and come up with all kinds of gimmicks to even have their members pay to be considered into their Kingdom. Right or wrong, my banishment was based on a member who was dishonest and let it be known in a post. I can attest their Master and Lord checks us out because upon my banishment from their Kingdom it was mentioned about my participation here. I believe he does that to keep an eye on those that are also members there. Kinda like the KGB spy network they have there.
I would like to see Zero mention of their Forum here. We all know they exist and if your happy with them also being a member there, good for you. But also remember that some left there for various reason.

Its more like being a bully, and its not fun. Therapy is running, watching. talking, and reading about our Hobby and likes.

I agree with Walt, I would prefer it if our members ignored that forum. Constantly bringing it up makes it seem that our members are both jealous of it and obsessed with it. Who cares what they do? I certainly don’t.

I have to agree with Walt, nobody on this forum has been more critical of the other forum more then me. I was really angry how I was treated and every little dig I could give them, the better. I made a promise to myself and others that I will never mention them again. Its been tough not to because there is alot to talk about and I have kept that promise. Btw its not fun to bully someone. When I was in grade school I had a speech problem and there were others who thought it was funny, I did not. It was a tough time. But I got through it. Now that I'm 77 I realize how wrong it was. Bullying is wrong no matter who or what it is!

There is only so much self flagellation I can stand which is why I see little value in mentioning any other forum unless we can learn from the mistakes of others and improve the way this forum operates.

The best medicine is to ignore them. Let’s enjoy what we have on the OGF and not speak of or worry about others.

No, it’s therapeutic to discuss are issues once in a while. My advise to others is to - Ignore if you don’t want to discuss - For the moderators, let it run its course, it will fade away on its own.

I tend to think it was done to protect the buyers and sellers from outside scams. I belong to a handful of O Gauge related Facebook groups (God only knows how many are actually out there). Some of them don't allow selling, and the ones that do are always attempting to shut down scams.

Well I would agree that it would seem to limit scams but you need to be a member to post and posting your e-mail address is discouraged.
