It's a carbonized library like the one found in Pompeii. There wasn't enough oxygen to let the fire reduce everything to ash so the books were reduced to solid masses of carbon - you will need some very sophisticated technology to read them.

I have no idea, but hoping its not Solar Panels. Serious, on Solar Panels. My neighbor has them, I was thinking of them until we both last year had our roofs done, because of age and insurance. They quoted him by several roofers and proffesional company needed to first remove and re-instal panels after shingles done. He had quotes of 32,000.00 to 45,000.00. I don't know which he took but he also needed to replace several. My quotes were 15,000.00 to 17,000.00. Took 2 days. His took 5 days.

They are indeed solar panels and two battery walls (Tesla). We are tired of the crazy electric rates that keep going up. They say it will take 2 days, today and tomorrow.
Roof is only 5 years old so no need to worry about that.

I didn’t want to say earlier but I enlarged the pic and I can easily read Tesla on the crate on the left so I knew it was solar panels.
We looked into installing them a couple of years ago. The life of the panels is about 25 years. Electricity is cheap enough here that it would take close to 25 years for us to save enough on our electric bill to pay for the panels and batteries. It would have made sense where we lived in NY because of the cost of electric but not here.

Return isn't very good for you guys. My return, at the current electricity rate is 9 years. I expect that to come down because they seem to be raising rates every year.

It was about the same for us when we lived in NY. You’ll be saving a ton money for 15+ years and your roof and solar panels will need to be replaced at about the same time. I think it’s a very good investment.

Now that The Electric company has raised our rates by 30%, and there is a Federal Tax right off for the install... It may actually be a good investment now.

Now that The Electric company has raised our rates by 30%, and there is a Federal Tax right off for the install... It may actually be a good investment now. Exactly. My after-incentive cost is half of what Tesla is charging me. Also, they moved to the 400W panels (from 200W) a couple of years ago and that put me into the zone where it now makes sense. I never wanted to rent them because the goal was to make a one-time investment that would cut our go-forward monthly expenses as much as possible for the next 20~30 years. We think we will be in the house for 20~25 years more then downsize when we can't manage it any longer. The math finally made sense.
