New Lionel LionChief 2.0 RDC cars

Has anyone attempted to populate the dummy passenger unit in the new Lionel LionChief RDC 2-packs?  If so, which people (manufacturer) did you use?  Did they go in whole, or did you need to do a little "surgery" to make them fit?  They look to empty without some passengers.  Was the installation easy?

Also, are the car bodies from the former MTH molds?  They seem different from the original Lionel Post-War sets.
