My father recently passed away and when we were cleaning out some of his things, we snagged his old Lionel train stuff. We were not sure if there is value in this stuff as it has been in storage at his house for decades. Was hoping someone could take a look and tell us if there is any value in selling or if we should find something else to do with it. Thanks. These are the things he had: 57web.com/vpix/lionel-veix/album/index.htmlAny help would be greatly appreciated.

Very nice collection that your father had.
Your best bet is to check what those items sold for on ebay. Not suggesting selling there but use it to gauge value.
Of the items you shared my guess is the ZW transformer is likely the most desirable though it appears it needs some TLC to get it into shape.
The other items appear to be pretty common but since you have boxes for some of them (maybe all), that adds to the value.

phlyx, sorry to hear of the passing of your father. As Adam mentioned, you can gauge value by using eBay (with caution, as some items are overpriced). If they are sold to an outfit for re-sale, expect to get only about 30% of the 'market' value. Items with boxes usually net higher price. None the less, surprisingly, train engines stored even for decades, can run very well after proper cleaning and lubrication. Even though I am blind, I still maintain and operate an O gauge layout - running exclusively post war Lionel. I can't see what is in the slide show; however, if you post the engine / rolling stock numbers, I may be able to give you some idea. Alfred

Thanks for the input and I believe my mother tried to sell these about 10-15 years ago and didn't get anyone offering enough to warrant getting rid of them. These are stashed in boxes in our side garage and it's a brutally hot day today so not going to climb in there to open all the boxes again. The transformer stuff isn't in the greatest of shapes, some electrical tape on it and the insulation on the power wires is so old it's flaking off. No clue what, if any of it, runs or works. I looked at Ebay for the ZW transformer and they go from $30-$300. There are dozens of them and the only ones with bids are $30-$100 and they appear to be working. One reason for asking is the local hobby job joined together with a model train group and they are setting up a model train museum. I was thinking about possibly donating all of this to them so it would get put to good use. If the whole set is only worth a couple hundred buck$, it's not worth all the creating ads, packing, and shipping. But that's where I don't know if there's something in this collection that is super rare and maybe worth so real cash. Anyone you know able to give an estimate on the value of everything together?

I did find that my mother had done a partial write-up: Lionel O27 engine #2034 w/tender NYC New York Central System flat bed #6462 The Right Way C.G. freight car #64643-75 Sunoco Tanker #6035 Caboose #6037 Caboose #6357 10 pieces straight track 12 pieces of curved track 1 intersection one transformer

That is a nice O27 set from the early 50s. None the less, on the secondary market it may not net much (I would guess not more than $150 at the most – my best guess.). It has a loco with a die cast body and metal motor (as opposed to plastic). It is a complete set and if box(es) are available, that should be mentioned if sold online. It is usual that transformers from that era have bad wiring. If you have a family member, it could be given to them; or you can keep it for under the Christmas tree or on display at home. See if the local club would want it. They could make a small portable layout simulating a 1950s layout. Alfred

It seems like you have these items at an auction site. I’ve seen refurbished postwar ZW’s go for anywhere from $125 to $200 at York. One’s in the condition your’s is in less than $100. The rest of the items are rather common.
Good luck with the auction.
