Been gone awhile, self imposed exhile. Been busy with a lot of catch-up work house, yard, friends, family, travel, jet skiing, etc. Yes even some model railroading on my layout and selling stuff I have collected and accumulated for decades not rairoar related. It was also were I found myself spending to much time on the internet and feeling I was becoming addicted. So a self imposed get-a-way way was needed.
I also, for the first time after catching up reading some of the post here decided to check, first time in over 2 years, the competition and check out the whats going on and if they improved, etc.
I noticed things haven't changed at al, but did notice less action on the other 2 Forums I was a member of and none of it exciting unless you want to visit a post on updates of an on going layout thats been in the works for over 7 years and spends weeks if not months on a single project. Or look for honest revues or issues with any products which are sponsors, you won't find them. I was impressed that a mis-spelling on a new MTH product was caught and will be corrected before its for sale. But was disapointed that a mis-spelling on a Lionel product was acceptable with no reply for a corrected label for the buyer. But then again, it seems that we accept and continue to accept Lionels ineptness in quality control because its a Lionel. So many have said enough with Lionel until the next new, overpriced, generic product comes out with gimmicks and never before paint scheme.
One of the reasons I originally joined here was that it was an open Forum and it continues in that way. We have honest revues. We have talented member and we continue to grow. Brian would be proud of all the members here and they are carrying out his Legacy on what a Model Railroad Forum should be.
I think I'll step off my soap box. It was a pleasure to read all the posts I missed and see all the new members come aboard here. Remember, this is "your" Forum, your family.
