Seems like Lionel is not the only company that has spelling issues. MTH meter car has the word “Industrial” spelled wrong. A poster on another forum found the error and trying to alert MTH with limited success.

MTH being a one man operation, may get fixed, may not

Perhaps we should all chip in and buy Lionel and MTH some Spell Check software to give to their manufacturers. If they already have it, they obviously do not know how to use it. Is some remedial training in order?
Nonetheless, MTH states elsewhere that they are aware of the mistake and that the correction will be made prior to production.

Its no big deal, if it was Lionel I'd be concerned! Mth will correct it before its even produced.
The Lionel fan boys will jump on anything to make MTH look bad. Trust me Lionel will screw something up this year and we can all laugh at them and the buyers who think its ok!!

It’s an error, it was identified and MTH said they will fix it. No big deal. Best case it gives us all something amusing to talk about for a couple of days. This Lionel vs MTH “fanboys” stuff is over for the vast majority of hobbyists in 2024. Is there really anyone here who will not buy a train they would have otherwise liked just because it comes in the wrong colored box? Does that even make sense? I know I run trains on my layout, not boxes.

If the spelling error does not get corrected before production, then just chalk it up to a car variation. Alfred

This is what happens when you farm out production and development of formerly American Made products to countries who do not use English as a regular language and their plant workers are uneducated low-paid indentured workers who have no working knowledge of the language or spelling on the product that they are making.
Those countries are culturally xenophobic and thus most of the plant people have little or no exposure to Americans or the language. Thus, spelling and grammatical errors will be common place.
Couple this with little or no quality control by the American importers (who are only motivated by raw profits/units sold and nothing more) and things like this WILL be commonplace. And as long as the American customer/buyer WILLINGLY ACCEPTS this, then nothing will change (except their money into the importers pockets).
BTW ... This is symptomatic of ALL products now days in America as we are fine with off-shoring everything to other countries. Just try reading the instruction manual for your new TV or DVD player. Or even the owner's manual for your new automobile! Same for the quality of those items and more!
We have done this to ourselves. Start voting with your wallets! Spend your money WISELY!

It would not surprise me if it is Spell Check with a side order of AI.

The Onion Specific Railroad has a nice ring to it. Does that RR run in circles? Or perhaps run rings around the competition? It must be a Blumin' Onion.
