The one detail that really caught me was that they got the soil from the geographic locations that they were modeling. Crazy!
I wonder who the ultra-rich person behind this layout might be.

I believe the man who owns that layout is Bill Gates neighbor. I liked the view of the "control room" where they show three computer screens and a staff monitoring all parts of the layout. It is a fantastic creation but in my case, part of the fun was building my small 28' x 15' layout and all the structures on it.

I certainly like a part-time in-house repair person. The only part of my layout from original surroundings is the dust. Alfred (I agree with /Dennis, I like the hands-on part of the hobby.)

I’m not positive but that layout looks like one that Dave Hikel worked on and uses in his advertising. It would be a lot of fun playing trains on that pike!
