These 60 to 70 year old locomotives are great for conventional running. Yep, they are certainly not scale in size, about twice the actual size of a 44 tonner. But they do get the job done for zipping around the layout. Anyone else run these ancient diesels on their layouts. I have 4 of them, been running them for decades.

I like those beasts - I think they're actually patterned after the GE 80-tonner switchers. I have a back-of-my-mind project to put a pantograph on one like the Niagara Junction locomotives. Interestingly, the Virginia & Truckee tourist railroad runs one - nice potential for re-paints.

I have a custom painted one I did for my Seattle & Yakima RR, it would be a prime candidate for a pantograph. Bill
