Hello All,
I'm taking on a new project, one that will be a first for me. I'll be taking a BN switcher and converting it to an early LIRR electric engine (conventional). I will be air brushing it PRR or REA colors. I don't know what road name I want to use yet. More pictures to follow

Thank you everyone,
As far as dc wiring is concerned I am very hesitant in doing work like this but I figured I'd make a go at it.
The lights were glued to the body of the switcher so using a small tip flathead screwdriver I pried the lights off and the light lenses just popped out afterwards.
Tonight after work I plan on priming the new body and frame. Hopefully in a few days I should have some pictures to post.

This looks fairly easy mechanically. I think the hardest part will be painting and letting the loco.

Dave The only info I could find so far was this: "#320, the small electric switcher, entered service at Morris Park Shops in 1927." www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/early-electric-engines/earlylirr-electric-engines.htm (Copy and paste the link) I'm not finding any specs on this LIRR A-1 Electric Engines Joe

What control system are you thinking of installing?

Update:
I have it painted and put together (Ill post photos tonight).
I still have to install decals and windows on the front, rear and sides but will be leaving some side windows open. Thinking of installing an engineer in the cab.
The only problem I ran into were the headlights. They were working when I took the engine apart and now they are not working. A simple fix I'm sure.
