I think I'm developing a problem. I've never been diagnosed with OCD, but maybe I should get checked out. During my second attempt I finally got the green I liked and applied some stock decal chevrons and stripes from K4 Decals. I thought they looked ok. I was quite pleased with the way the Microset and Microsol made that decal hug the latches on the bottom of the nose. Take a close up look at pic2. Now I needed custom decals. My normal "go to", Highball Graphics is not reachable. I hope Jim is OK. K4 and Fusion graphics are not accepting custom orders at this time. I found this company in Canada called Precision Design Company (PDC). www.pdc.ca/rr/custom_decals/Bill is really nice to work with and has been helping me with the design and customization. His rates are similar to Highball. But in his comments to me when I shared these pics, he said he could do better job making my chevrons so they looked more like the prototype and wrapped around the corners. My gut reaction was to leave well enough alone, but then I thought... I just applied these decals the night before. I could probably take them off, no problem. So I did... and ruined the paint in the process. The good news... I'm getting nice scale decals. The bad news, I'm stripping paint again and will paint this model for the third time.

I know what you’re going through. I tend to overthink the models I am working on and have had similar things happen to me in the process.

No worries Ron, that’s all part of the fun. We are having fun, right? Right? 😉

I think you had a great looking engine but after reading your comments I now think you will have a fantastic looking engine. Now saying that and reading your comment I will state that is why I DO NOT like weathering, Scenery, or doing what you are doing. I am too fussy and I tend to rush things which worsens the problem.

Ron, best wishes with it all. Don't leave well enough alone bites again. We have all been there - just not satisfied. Alfred

Ron, as long as you’re not considering changing to HO, then you’re handling it well!

What an absolutely beautiful rainy day today. I was able to spend some quality time in the shop working this forever project. I'm getting closer. Still have some handrails and detail piece parts to paint and install as well and the diamond plate decking. A little wire management in the frame and I can put the shell on. I spent forever installing 15 LEDs. The original model did not have ditch lights, so I had to custom make my own. I am SUPER HAPPY with the decals from Precision Design Company (PDC) in Canada. Bill did a great job on these decals. I highly recommend him if you need custom work. www.pdc.ca/rr/custom_decals/Ron
