Mergers didn't work out to well for these Farmers who depended on the Railroads to ship their products.

I saw it first hand, I lived by the Pennsylvania main line near a A&P warehouse and saw many cars refused by the warehouse because they didn't belong there. There were always cars pushed off to the sides waiting for pick up. My uncle who worked for A&P said the problems were never fixed and the wrong box cars being delivered caused the A&P to close the rail delivery and change over to the trucking outfits. What a mess PC became.
