Thanks, Steve, and very nice. They are great-looking locomotives and smoke well. I like the look of that upper level with the wood ties. Very sharp! Thanks, Paul! Yeah, the el was a late add-on, conceived and implemented after all the ground-level tracks were permanently in place. There were a lot of clearance issues with the build, but I finally worked out locations for all of the supports, and decided to increase the number of "extra" ties added to the tubular O-27 track. It'll never pass for scale or satisfy the rivet counters, but it was a fun project, especially the el station, which stops the trolley for a few seconds each circuit, before sending it on its rounds! The base was scratch built from styrofoam and card stock to house the stop-and-delay electronics, while the upper platform and news stand were upgrades of some leftover pieces from a Marx "Sound O' Power" set I bought just for the tender of the same name (which you can hear in the 1829 video!).

A Lionel 2018 found at York for twenty-five bucks, sans tender: Generic steam from the 1950s, I bought this for two reasons: (1) I had an orphaned new Lionel tender that matched it, and (2) it was manufactured and sold starting the year I was born, 1956, continuing until 1959. Runs well, pulls well, despite the lack of Magnetraction.
