Cabin Fever Auctions has announced that it will begin auctioning Tony Lash's massive MTH collection in the upcoming months. I am guessing it will take many auctions to complete the task. Bill www.youtube.com/user/seayakbill

Is his collection all "O" scale? or does he have other scales that MTH produced?

Tony's accumulation was mostly scale and that is what he ran on his layout darn near exclusively. But in his basement he had dozens of sets and other MTH product that he did not run on his layout. Bill www.youtube.com/user/seayakbill

I just subscribed to your YouTube page. Hi Denny, there is a bunch there, many from previous layouts from many years ago. Always fun watching other folks layouts in action. Bill www.youtube.com/user/seayakbill

I wasn’t familiar with Tony Lash’s layout but I’d seen him mentioned on forums here and there. I just did an image search - wow, that was an excellent layout.

Tony had a magnificent layout but it was in a building owned by his garbage business. When he sold the business everything was taken down and I believe moved into storage. Its a shame but many of the great layouts don't live on.

I saw Tony's layout in person many years ago and it was great. I think when he sold the business and moved he was going to build a Marklin layout. Not sure if he ever did. Great guy to talk with also.

I thought that he also had a huge Lionel Postwar collection? I remember a video with him where he stated while his big layout was being built he ordered 44 sheets of 4x8 plywood to build a place to run his postwar collection??!! He also collected wooden ducks...or decoys.

Just guessing, with Tony's relocation to Florida and travels to the Caribbean, probably not enough available time to rebuild the layout that is in storage in DC.

Bill www.youtube.com/user/seayakbill Do you have any insight why Tony is selling now? Tony sold his garbage business retired and moved to Florida. He has the funds to easily move and rebuild the layout but instead wants to sell everything off. I would guess that Tony enjoyed his model railroading fun, has lost interest and now chooses in his retirement to move on to travel, play golf and do other things. Some are but not everyone is a lifelong train collector. Tonys collection was huge and now we will see what it brings at auction.
