Some of the interesting information about George Pullman and the Pullman Palace Car Company include: the first two cars , the Pioneer and the Springfield (Lincoln’s birthplace), were produced in 1863, a Pullman car was used as part of President Lincoln’s funeral cortege, Pullman loaned one of his sleeper cars to Mary Todd Lincoln, the Palace Car Company was founded in 1865, Pullman died in 1897, Robert Todd Lincoln's (eldest son) headed the company after Pullman’s death.

I have a soft spot for old-school passenger trains, being my family’s main mode of transport when I was a kid. I have a couple of passenger consists I like to run, namely my Alco-powered Williams CPR set and my Railking Great Northern set with the pair of EMD E6s. I got the add-on CPR car pair and run them in local mixed trains with my Williams 10-wheeler steamer.
The video is the CPR set running down at the club. (Quick tip - if you’re running longer cars on 036 Fastrack, look out for the switchstands! 😬)
