Ah yes the plight of the poor MODERATOR trying to serve two masters and ultimately serving neither. Constantly playing whack a mole with thread topics that won't go away created by forum members who won't be stifled until they are banned.
What is a poor MODERATOR to do?
His Forum members continue to complain about quality yet as the MODERATOR says here is the same old topic with the same old complaints. Why don't you contact the model train company directly?
Thread Closed.
From my experience what you get when you contact a certain company is the sounds of silence; not even one feeble chuff.
The MODERATOR in exasperation says you people spend thousands of dollars on trains you complain about and continue to buy spending thousands more yet won't pay $40 bucks for my subscription.
In so doing the MODERATOR reveals his real interest, self preservation and a salary.
Pity the poor MODERATOR as he lives the expression between the rock and the hard place.
Let us shed a few crocodile tears for the poor hapless MODERATOR.
That's enough!
If model train companies responded to their customer complaints/concerns rather than ignoring them unless you know the secret email address or have the ear of one of big shots the MODERATOR's job would be so less stressful.
Now wouldn't that be wonderful?
But for now let's just pity the poor MODERATOR if only because he doesn't know he is on the list of endangered species.
Three cheers for the OGF difference.

After I left about 5 years ago I got a message last year asking me to come back if I bought a subscription. What a deal, I don't want the subscription and what I wanted was a apology for how I was treated. Since the new owner has come on board he has done nothing to make the site better!!
Sorry but I am very happy here at OGF, A wonderful forum with a bunch of great people.

Oh you mean it has actually finally been sold.
I was hoping it would improve. I now 2 forums ( 3 counting this one) that don't require you to buy a subscription to be a part of. one has all but self destruct because of a incident of about 6 years ago or so. Shame as it use to be a great forum.
I did not care for the forum I think your talking about, there were to many I felt where on the snobbish side. And for bid should you say something about one of there advertiser, they would delete topic and possible be deleted from them.

You can't make this up when you search OGR one of the top hits is for Order of the Golden Rule a leading association for funeral directors. Maybe the hobby is dying after all?

If you wish to discuss important issues of the day like quality, price escalation, honest opinions and state of the O gauge hobby then OGF is the place. Its good to know about any quality issues, defects, and info on companies, products and suppliers that do not advertise in magazines. You can find all that here, a good place to be.

I love how the Dictator says bring your issues to Lionel. Well, how about posting a phone number or email so we can do just that, would love to give my two cents to the CEO. But that will never happen as they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

Sighhhhh.... Yes, our First World problems keep piling up! Sorry, censorship of certain topics sometimes set me off, but I agree that I likely had too much time on my hands yesterday. Admittedly this thread is an act of self indulgence on my part which I will not repeat. However first world problems are sometimes a refuge from the scarier real world problems we all are faced with.

Haha,
I'm surprised the thought controller took so long to silence the dissent.
I wonder if any members were banned over it.
Some say complaining about rancid quality control is like beating a dead horse.....which does not make sense when the rancid quality control and goofy crayola colors continue to be an issue.
I do agree, it will be more productive to stop buying the products instead of complaining.
