I wonder how often they need to do water maintenance due to evaporation.

Saw this a few years ago and was amazed. Still amazed. To think how long it took to set it up. Not just to figure length of track needed but how far apart the glasses have to be let alone how much water is needed. Astonishing! And PATIENCE!!!

I wonder how often they need to do water maintenance due to evaporation. I wondered the same -- dunno for sure, but a thin layer of mineral oil at the top of each glass would serve to minimize the losses, or perhaps they are just gluttons for retuning . . .
