I just heard from the Canadian Toy Train Association that the national TTOS has dissolved. The CTTA spun off the the TTOS about ten years ago.

Dang it...I guess my member pin is now useless (or quite valuable, depending on how you look at it): I've been hearing their demise has been imminent for years...to be honest, I thought they crumbled 2-3 years ago. Being an organization primarily serving southern California and the Southwest (and here I am on the East Coast), I never got that much from being a member, certainly very little as it related to "operating".

Sorry to see the TTOS is no more. But I think its only the beginning for most of the clubs. Most module clubs are struggling in this area to get members. I belonged to one for about 15+ years and today its struggling to get and keeping members. I left because of age and physical limitations and as the members are leaving there are no younger guys willing to do it. There are much less shows and venues and even with that they can't get enough members willing to commit to doing shows, its a shame.

In sense it was kinda redundant. You have the TCA, you have the LCCA that is now tied close to Lionel as their club. You have LOTS…Not sure why it is needed when you have the LCCA. The MTH club is no more.
Remnants of TTOS will live on. For example, the CTTA, which splintered off the TTOS, is thriving, has members on both sides of the boarder and has a very active club car program. It’s also a very welcoming and very social group. We just had one of our quarterly zoom call meet ups and it was great. To me, they are a model how a club can thrive in the internet age.
New York based Toy Train Collectors Society is an other splinter group. I am a member but I don’t hear much from them except for meet announcements, most of which are near Buffalo NY.

That is unfortunate about TTOS; good to hear that CTTA is active. Alfred

TTOS dissolved? Shouldn't that be TTOS ceased operations?

TTOS dissolved? Shouldn't that be TTOS ceased operations? Or we can say disintegrated? terminated with extreme prejudice?

Just stumbled upon this thread. I researched/searched on the internet and it appears that TTOS is still around. They have a fairly active FaceBook page. Last posting was in the middle of March of this year.
TTOS Southwestern Division is publishing quite an extensive show schedule for 2024 lasting all year.
TTOS New Mexico is also up with events through the latter part of 2024.
Sacramento Valley Chapter has events for 2024 also.
TTOS seems to dominate the Western U.S. whereas TCA seems to dominate the Eastern U.S.
So there is that. Does anyone have a link to where TTOS is no more?

Still trying to find a link that has that disbanding information.

It’s zombie website. Try to join the TTOS and see what happens.
