Yes it’s here, finally. I think it took almost two years since I placed the order for the MTH premier car. I worked up a real hunger unboxing this delightful car, so I cooked up some scrapple and hominy and chowed down. Figured I would snap a picture before the evidence was gone. Hit the spot!

Ahh, the haggis of Pennsylvania. Delicacy. Looks disgusting, but a delicacy nonetheless.

You, my friend, are a dedicated scrapple aficionado. I can feel my aorta clogging just looking at that picture.

The photo looks like crime scene!

Now we need a Taylor Ham/Pork Roll car!

I have been interested in trains my whole 59 year old life. Seen a lot of freight cars, but never a Scrapple car. I snapped it right up after Pats Trains had it as a custom run. I was born and raised in Maryland, and scrapple is pretty popular around here. My grandmother Amelia was a great cook of German heritage, she put out awesome meals, many classic Maryland meals like crab cakes, liver and onions (no thanks) fried chicken, fried tomatoes, corn fritters, fresh sausage and hominy, and much more. I have fond memories of family weekend breakfasts or lunch’s featuring Scrapple. Watching this car run around my layout will remind of those folks long gone, and of the good times. And it will surely will inspire a few laughs as well. It’s all good.

Native Marylander here as well, of German extraction. I enjoy scrapple in small amounts, along with a lot of other stuff. About the only thing I draw a line at is sweetbreads and turtle soup.

Got mine a few weeks ago, nice car and a remembrance of scrapple that my grandma who was of German descent served at Sunday breakfast. I have eaten scrapple in all my 77 years and it has been great. Never ask what is in it, just enjoy it!!

Yummm! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, put it on a croissant or burger bun, add some scrambled eggs and slap some cheese on it. With some home fried potatoes on the side it’s a great way to start the day!! My two scrapple cars arrived too!

What we really need is a Polock Johnny’s version. I haven’t been over there for many years. Used to be a bunch of locations, but down to just one now

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside... That's exactly how I like mine. I'm originally from Ohio, but learned to like Scrapple when I moved to MD. Down where we like RAPA Scrapple the best since it's right down the road from us.

High Voltage,
Rapa is my favorite too. But Habbersetts isn’t bad, and Rapa doesn’t have a train car.
I believe both are made under the same roof.

If you guys like scrapple you would love an item from the west coast called Menudo.
I grew up in So California lived there over 30 years. Worked with some guys that swore that Menudo was the best thing for a hangover. A traditional Mexican soup, made with cow's stomach (tripe) in broth with a red chili pepper base. Hominy, lime, onions, and oregano are used to season the broth.
Menudo takes a long time to prepare as the tripe takes hours to cook. It includes many ingredients and side dishes (such as salsa), and is garnished with chopped onions, chiles, cilantro, and often with lime juice; Wash it down with some tequila
