The groundhog did not see his shadow. That means the Allentown Spring Thaw is just three weeks away.
Who is going?
Allentown is a nice halfway point for me in PA and Family in NJ. So we attend the show, then get Chicken Parm at Valentino's in Kutztown and then usually pay a visit to the Allentown & Auburn RR in Kutztown or the Reading historical society.
On the way home, my son and I stop at the Reading Blue Moutain and Northern to drool at all of their awesome power in the yard.

For me it is a 3 hour trip one way which means an overnight stay Friday. It is a great show that I had decided to skip this year but the temptation remains strong to attend, especially if my Henning's service ticket engine is completed by then.
Thanks a lot ron, your post was all the nudge that I needed. The allure of trains and perhaps meeting rockymountaineer was too much to resist.
Lodging booked and preregistered so I can get in early and be home at a decent hour.

Nope, won't be attending. That's a hoof for me, and with York coming up, I'll defer to that (much closer and it'll be warmer by then).

The Allentown Spring Thaw Meet is on the calendar and I will be there on Saturday. Its my favorite show, easy to get there, a short inexpensive 1hour10 drive and it usually has just about everything that I could want at this point in time. The meet draws several thousand attendees and its always a good place to find bargains. If you don't end up buying anything there is a huge Farmers Market on the fairgrounds that sells meats, poultry, vegetables, cakes, pies, and all kinds of Amish, American and ethnic prepared foods. Not the main attraction but a plus. As of today 2/15/24 its only 9 days away to showtime.

Only a 3 days to go to the ATMA Allentown Spring Thaw meet. I thought that it would be good to bring this show notice back up as it is a fine event. The show brings in thousands, tables are always sold out and there is wide variety of O gauge. There are 600 tables in two halls. The meet usually has a wide variety of NOS overstock and used trains but new trains can be there as well. The dealer mix appears to be different that what is at York. I will be there wearing my OGF hat and hope to see some of you there.

And you didn't raise a fuss as some at York have done and then never come back. Have you no pride? Better keep an eye out for derailments with those train races so close. DUCK !!!!!!!

Hoping to go with my conductor. She is originally from Allentown so it will be a nice visit to the area again.

Planning on Saturday also. Please feel free to tap me on the shoulder and say "Hi". If we cross paths I will definitely say hello. Look for my OGF hat. Weather says breezy and cold on Saturday but the Agricultural Halls are usually very warm and comfy.
