I picked up a used but in very nice condition and working handcar for next Christmas. You don't see these very often and when you do they are bringing good money. I have been drawn to handcars lately for some reason. Maybe because they don't cost me an arm and leg. LOL. Sorry but the picture is not my actual handcar. It is one from the internet. For some dumb reason this forum limits a picture size to 3mb and my picture is 3.2. When I upload it the picture it gets loaded upside down. Pretty sad. Guess we aren't supposed to take high quality pictures for postings.

Usually when the picture is upside down once you click on it, it becomes right side up. Weird but it happens.

You can use MS Paint (a Windows accessory) to resize your photo. Just open the pic in Paint, then use the edit function to ‘resize’ it by a percentage. If your pic is 3.2mb, resize it to 90% to get down to less than 3.0mb.
FYI, when I attach pics here, I usually make them around 350kb to avoid scarfing up too much storage space.

Looks upside down but when you click on it you will see it right side up. Funny. Well at least you can see the actual item.

What I do when pictures I want to post are upside down is to open the picture from where they are stored and edit it by rotating the image 360 degrees then save it. For reasons I can’t explain it is fixed the issue when I repost it.
Another thing I do is to just save the picture to your desktop then use that as your source to post. It always makes the picture upright when I post it.
Nice pickup, Ed. I always liked that handcar but never got one.

Very nice find! Do you run a layout under your tree? That would look pretty cool.

Very nice find! Do you run a layout under your tree? That would look pretty cool. I have started doing a mini layout in addition to my full size one lately and I have been using handcars for the mini layouts. So far they have been on a small 031 curved circle. I think the handcars go nicely on this size because they are run solo. My latest mini is a Valentine's Day theme. I posted it here. The next one is going to be for St. Patty's Day. No handcar for that one because I couldn't find one for the theme. Don't know how that one is going to turn out yet but it will be fun to do. This polar bear handcar will not be used till next Christmas.

I see a new member has posted a number of handcars in the buy/sell...they look sharp.
