Wasn't the price of the TIU and the remote $349? wow. I sure am glad I purchased extra remotes.

Did you seek a remote and that was the response? Is this a hypothetical? Was this actually a random person taking into account current market valuation?
Not much info here so not sure what response we're seeking... Stream of consciousness doesn't work too well on a discussion forum, though venting does feel pretty good from time to time.

There were a number of posts prior to Gary’s that have somehow disappeared. Jim Teeple started this thread asking where he could buy a DCS remote. His original post and a number of responses are gone. I have no idea how this happened.

Sidetrack Hobbies has them listed for $299.99 NIB. That seems to be the going rate for just the remote these days.

LOL 300 bucks for a remote, MTH listed them for 200 when they did a run a few years back. People taking advantage of the situation. Sad.

Well DCS Sets are bringing $700+ and Lionel 990 Sets $1K. So what's your point?

The original post led to another making reference to a particular dealer who is a friend of the second poster (and known to me as a first rate and reputable MTH parts, upgrade and repair specialist). So I think they were removed by the posters themselves - as it is possible to do with your own posts - so as not to associate that dealer with the inflated prices sought for new and used MTH handheld remotes. In fact he is not charging anything more than the going rate for these and I believe his stock is from the most recent run of these in the period when the supply chain mess and lack of parts drove everything of this kind up in price. I do get worked up about eBay sellers changing $300+ for used MTH remotes without making it clear which software version is loaded or indeed whether the thing is functional!
