We thought it would look cool to turn the lights off.

Very cool but please turn on the lights next time. I'm old and can't see that well, lol.

You want lights? You got lights.

Denny, sound effects were great. I clearly got the impression that the trains came close to the camera periodically. Dave, if I recall, were you going for cataract surgery? Has that not helped? Alfred

Alfred Not me. I don't have any issues with cataract. I could develop issues from being diabetic, but the eye doctor said so far they 'look' okay. Sorry I couldn't resist that one.😁

We thought it would look cool to turn the lights off. ... Denny, here's another approach to nighttime running. Although not intuitive, another way to simulate nighttime is with blue lights. The blue ambient coloring allows our brain to effectively imagine darkness, yet still gives our eyes the ability to "see" what our brain is telling us is nighttime. I don't have a video handy, but here are some still photos of my home layout "in the dark" -- captured shortly after the layout was installed in 2017.

Alfredo Yes I have had surgery on my left eye and it is fine and I will have surgery on my right eye next month. I was just joking around with Denny. Btw the video with the lights on is much appreciated and the video with the lights off was also fine. Thank you Alfred for remembering me and the eye surgery. Dave

Another option is to use a dimmer switch and dim the lights to a darker level so some details can be seen.

Dark is nice, but even better with thunder and lightning!
I also have used a blue-to-purple color changing LED to provide some nighttime illumination.
