Fun stuff in this catalogue - thankfully for my wallet though, very little for the Canadian railroader. Very true, but we have been very lucky with the last couple of catalogs which had lots of good Canadian trains!

I am a big Christmas train buyer and really wish that Lionel would release their offerings in the smaller size when they release something in Legacy. MTH would almost always release something in both Premier and RailKing. I love that new North Pole Central set, but can't run Legacy and don't want to spend the money either.
As for the Polar Express selection, wow. So much now to choose from and the different SKUs just keep getting more numerous and confusing to sort through.

Mr Muffin has a video announcing his custom runs of this catalog. If your like Midwest road names, you should find something you like. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXIKvoPsZbUIf anyone else hears of any custom runs, please let everyone know! Steve offers a lot of cool regional roads but doesn't support the rest of the country. The North East and South often get overlooked. Let's see - Boston & Albany; Illinois central; GM&O; Rio Grande; Union Pacific; BN; Erie; NKP; NYC; PC; D&H; TP&W; WM; L&N; LV; Wabash; MP; B&O; FEC; USArmy; Reading; Milwaukee; W≤ Amtrak; MKT; Cotton Belt; and of course, Monon - yeah, you're right: "cool regional roads but doesn't support the rest of the country. The North east and South get overlooked" BS.

I’m sure Mr Muffin has his core midwestern customers.

I should know, because I ordered it.
And we wonder sometimes why dealers don't participate here on our forum??? THINK and check your facts before you post... PLEASE.

Well I guess we all have our wants and needs. You could ask 500 O gauge hobbyists what they’d like to have made and you’ll get 500 different items. I myself have a wishlist of nearly fifty O gauge items. Some I missed previously or haven’t been made yet. But with all the trains I have I can wait.
Heck, I have a large spreadsheet of items that are still available I’m trying to prioritize before I can worry about what’s not made yet!! But that’s just me. My focus isn’t very narrow but it’s more narrow than it use to be.

Well, you can call it B.S. but I created around 55 common schemes over the years that the OEM’s would not produce. It may be only 5 or 6 grand but if available, I would have spent on store purchases, none of which are in your list. The reason that they're not on anyone's list is becuase it's possible that none of your 55 schemes were profitable projects. If OEM's would not produce them, it's becuase they determined that those 55 projects were not commercially viable good business decisions. I'll publically go on record here and have an offer to you. I will have all 55 of your schemes built. Send me the artwork or images or concepts, and I will have them produced. Since you're so positive these are all great ideas, you'll have no problem having some skin in the game and agree to purchase all unsold inventory I have, 6 months after the product(s) is delivered. I've been doing custom runs for 20 years, and I make the same offer to everyone that has an idea for a custom run that they want to see. I'll be the conduit and facilitate producation of any/all ideas provided that the person that had the idea steps up to the plate with a financial guarantee. In 20 years, only 1 person has taken me up on that offer and signed that blank check. Once you put your money where your mouth is, I'll schedule production with the train manufacturer of your choosing. I won't hold my breath. Stu

I don't buy alot anymore but Mr Muffin is one of the best dealers around. Nobody in any business wants unsold inventory sitting around not selling. Apparently there are some people here that have no clue when it comes to running A business.

How many custom run items has Mr. Muffin run the last 3 years? Hundreds, maybe if you count Lionel Atlas and MTH. And you can only provide only one Canadian road name custom run example from Mr. Muffin in the last three years? Aren't you just proving my point? The other thing is, you are being defensive on behalf of Mr. Muffin and you don't need to be. I like Mr. Muffin and I buy a lot of trains from him. He is a midwestern dealer and 90% of his custom runs reflect a Midwest focus. It's what he does and I am only recognizing that fact. It does not mean I think he is a "bad dealer." So you can stand down from red alert.

It really good for those expensive items that you don't want to pay for all at once. I highly recommend him and I do buy trains from his using the "lay a buy" program.
