Expanding the upper loop to 060 radius turns. Need to make a couple more support tressells and some painting.

Looks good, Keith. Bigger curves are better.

Looks great keith. What does the layout measure? Thanks. 20x8 feet. The lower loops are 060 and 072.

How did you attach the trestles to the platform? Also to the tracks? thanks they just sit on the table, but track screwed down with small screws. If you need the screw size, I can let you know. They are made out of furring strips.

I'm planning on building a upper loop. I run only PW trains on old lionel 3 rail tubular track. My '52 F3 2343 AbbA is really heavy. Even with 072 curves I dont think that would work for me. It would have to move around alot. IMHO. Just wondering best way to anchor the trestles to the table. thanks Rob

Keith, good to hear of your good progress. Do a video to show when you are operating. Alfred

Rob, good to have a post from you. Like you, I am a PW equipment on tubular track operator - exclusively Lionel Alfred

On my previous layout my double track upper level was 20” above the table using 1X2 lumber supports two feet apart. I was running scale Big Boys and 4-8-4 Northerns.
The real strength comes from the subroadbed. I used 1/2” plywood but should have used 5/8” or 3/4”. (I added 1/2” styrofoam on top of the plywood for quiet running). Then I could have spaced the supports further apart. If you want to secure the supports to the table you can use 1” “L” brackets available at any hardware store with small screws.
