I hope this is where I can post this. I just bought a WP Caboose on ebay, and the seller didn’t know the brand of the train. I know it won’t hook up to my couplers, and was wondering if anyone, knows the brand of the Caboose, and if I can change the couplers and trucks on it. If not, I guess it will end up part of the layout. Thank you.

Not sure of the brand but it looks like its from the 50's, 60's. Changing the trucks and coupler shouldn't be a problem.
Another thought, it looks like it came from a inexpensive set and sold around Christmas. Most likely a battery operated set.

Dave Dave, Thank you, I was thinking along the lines of an inexpensive set also. My problem is which type and what brand trucks and couplers to use. I’m new at this kind of stuff, so I wouldn’t have an idea of what to get for it. The reason I bought it was I’m working on my Western Pacific legacy 2-8-0 line. And I wanted a woodsided Caboose, and this is the only one I’ve found.

I can't work out the scale of that model from the photos but it looks a somewhat odd size. Anyway as for the couplers I have seen sizeable ones like that on some Bachmann cars although not the ones made in O scale for the US market. Just a hunch but maybe this was from one of their RTR sets that were designated "Haulers" (which were mostly battery operated). The truck/coupler assembly appears to be held on by a single screw so you should be able to find O gauge 3rail scale replacements.

My best guess would be a New Bright set

I agree , it looks like a car from a New Bright set. The ones I’ve seen in person are O gauge size.
